Board of Directors

Elie Petitphat

Director

Abaco Island, Bahamas

Mr. Petitphait is a Bahamian citizen currently living in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
Aside from where he attended high school (Omaha, Nebraska, US), Elie followed the path many Foundation Builders Institute – Abaco students will take. He began his career in construction, taking woodworking classes and construction management, and then moved back to Abaco, where he would spend the next seven years as an apprentice before becoming a carpenter. From there, Elie naturally progressed into project/construction management supervisory roles. His onsite understanding of the trades while being mentored, coupled with his undergraduate studies in business management and marketing at DeKalb University, allowed him to gain experience in the management of several dozen staff, materials supply, scheduling, project QA/QC, as well as negotiating contracts, small business finance, including client management and project onsite security. These previous engagements have enabled Mr. Petitphait to manage construction projects and provide property management.
While knowledgeable in several trades, Elie is familiar with and efficiently manages projects and contracts from $0.5M to $2M. His contracting and construction management expertise includes residential, commercial, and light industrial.
As managing principal of P&E Building Group, Mr. Petitphait understands the various aspects of business management and construction management.
In addition to his contracting company, Elie currently manages numerous properties throughout Abaco Island for residents and absentee owners. He also has commercial management experience, including golf courses and marinas, assisting celebrity and high-profile guests.
Virtually all his experience has been obtained on Abaco Island, making him intimately familiar with the training needs of the population on the island and surrounding islands.
