Robert Muncy serves as the Executive Director of International Programs at Foundations Builders International. He and his wife, Linda, have been married for 40 years and have three children. Jennifer, the oldest, preceded them in death, having lost her life in a car accident in 2001. Heather Landis and her husband, Nate, live nearby and own and operate an aluminum fabrication and welding business specializing in marine applications. They have two children.  Joshua, Robert, Linda's youngest, and his wife Kaila live in the lower Delaware area. Joshua is the principal owner of The Restoration Group, and Kaila owns a massage and yoga studio. They have one daughter.

 

Robert has always had a keen interest in entrepreneurship and in helping others develop their business skills and achieve success. He retired from the State of Delaware Department of Transportation after 24 years of service, starting as a heavy equipment mechanic. He attended college at night and earned an associate degree in architectural and engineering technology from Delaware Technical and Community College. His employment with the State progressed to serving as the instrument man on a survey crew in the Real Estate Section's engineering squad, where he oversaw the development of Real Estate plans for the acquisition. He also assisted the attorneys in eminent domain cases. In his last five years with the State, he joined a newly created value engineering group that reviewed all state projects to ensure the design used the most efficient construction methods. Throughout this time, Robert managed real estate development projects, mainly on the Sussex County, Delaware family farm. He also invested in residential and commercial rental properties. Many of the business properties Robert still oversees are part of his family's corporation.

 

Through his various employment experiences, he has always been interested in helping others develop their skills and advance their success. He has also contributed for many years to different projects in Brazil, including aiding a medical clinic in Belo Horizonte. Since the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Robert has partnered with various individuals and groups to establish vocational training that improves building and construction quality by training local builders in construction skills according to the International Building Code, as well as teaching business skills and money management. Through his work in Haiti, Robert met John Wicks, and Foundation Builders International was born.
